For anyone who has ever been to Miami, one of the sites everyone goes to see is the infamous Versace Mansion located on Ocean Drive. Casa Casuarina was once owned by Italian designer Gianni Versace who was gunned downed at the location in 1997.
Now the listing comes on the market for an astonishing $125 million. The mansion, located at 116 Ocean Drive, has 10 bedrooms, 11 baths, a 54-foot mosaic inlaid pool lined in 24-karat gold – the entire home is adorned with a fantasy theme and exclusive fabrics, tiles and ceramics.
Luxury property brokers Jill Hertzberg and Jill Eber unveiled the property listing last week with a press release and vibrant photos of the iconic Mediterranean-style estate.
“Every room is a work of art,” said Jill Eber. “If the person buying it is not already a celebrity it gives them instant celebrity status – if they want it.”
Jill Hertzberg continued, “We’re already getting a lot of people responding to the listing. It’s an internationally recognized name, and it’s on Miami Beach. It will appeal to a lot of people.”
The mansion was built in 1930 by architect Alden Freeman, an heir to the Standard Oil fortune, in tribute to the Alcazar de Colon, Christopher Columbus’ family home in the Dominican Republic.
